Great Coaches are the Greatest Teachers

As the brother of someone who has Down Syndrome, I can fully appreciate what these two coaches did in this video. They helped one local boy with Down’s in the Parkway Flag Football League reach the end zone and feel the excitement of scoring in a game. But equally as important, they taught the other players the valuable lesson of good sportsmanship. Look at the players on the other team, 4,5 and 6 year olds, “diving” to make sure the accomplishment happened.
The play was so good, Channel 7 News broadcast the story.

Donate Your Old Coats at Flag Football Saturday Nov 7th

This is from a parent at PYFFL:
My son Matt Kerressey is helping the Coats for Kids Program collect gently-used coats for infants, children and adults. Coats for Kids is a community service project sponsored by Jordan’s Furniture and Anton’s Cleaners. They hope to collect 60,000 quality coats by January 2010 and distribute to: Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Mass Bay, Salvation Army, Cradles to Crayons, MA Coalition for the Homeless, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to children and many other agencies.
This Saturday 11/7/09 Matt will put a large Box next to the concession stand at Reservation Road field to collect any donated coats. With the economy and so many people out of work the need is greater than ever this year so please bring your gently used** coats and deposit them in the Box at the field this Saturday.
** Please do not donate coats that have rips, missing buttons, broken zippers or permanent stains. Donate warm winter coats that you would give to a friend to wear.

Registration for Parkway Flag Football Cheerleading
July 2, 2009
Registration for Parkway Flag Football Cheerleading will be held on Thursday July 9th from 6:30-7:30pm at the Little League Complex. Child must be 5 years or older by August 31, 8009.
Registration fee is $25 plus the cost of the cheerleading uniform. Uniforms will be ordered at the time of registration to ensure they arrive before the season begins.
Practices will begin mid-August.

Cardinals Flag Football Junior Super Bowl Champions

This past weekend the Parkway Flag Football League held its’ division Chamionships and All Star games. The Cardinals won the Junior Division. They played the Steelers in the finals and defeated them 6-0.
The Cardinals players are (in no particular order): Kameron Gingras, Christine Conley, Kyle Dance, Jack Dolan,
Jackie and Andrew Kassis, Isiah Pina, Michael and Brendan McIntosh and Kevin Steele
The Head coach is Dan Conley, Assisted by Kevin Gingras and John McIntosh (the two assistants are from a long line of coaching prowess on Manthorne Road).
