Parkway Travel Basketball Accepting Applications

Parkway Travel Basketball is accepting applications for its upcoming season. Stop by the WRCC on Wednesday September 9th, between 6pm – 8pm to register, or do so online on the: Parkway Basketball Website. Tryouts will begin the week of Monday, September 14th.

Spring Open Gym Series With Parkway Travel Basketball

Starting Monday, April 20th, Parkway Travel Basketball will be hosting the Spring Open Gym Series. The Spring Open Gym Series consists of two 90-minute sessions of basketball instruction, drills, and skill workshops. The sessions are led by collegiate level athletes, and are open to anyone in the community in grades 4-8. Girls sessions run from 5pm – 6:30pm, followed by the boys sessions, from 6:30pm – 8pm. There is no charge for these events, and they will all take place at the Holy Name Gym. Duke Upsets North Carolina

March 5, 2009

In a match up that held true to the team names, the WRCC House League playoffs started Tuesday night and Duke, coached by Pat O’Toole and Dave Isberg, upset Dave Nero’s North Carolina. In a defensive battle between 3rd and 4th graders, Duke held strong in upsetting the favored North Carolina. The offense of Jackson Kelly and Pat O’Toole was too much for North Carolina despite a valiant effort by Jack Fitzgerald, Nick Burns and Joe Nero, who almost sent it into OT with a last second 3 point attempt.

The highlight of the match was defense on both sides but the play of the game was a long 3 put up by Duke’s, Eamonn McQuaid that turned out to be the difference. Duke will move on to play tonight with the finals on Saturday. Come on down and check them out. Congratulations goes out to all the teams with a thank you out to the coaches, refferees and staff at WRCC for a great season. Read more

Parkway Travel Basketball Signups

PARKWAY TRAVEL BASKETBALL is holding registration Wednesday, September 10th, from 6-8pm, at the Roche Center . The league includes ages 4th – 8th, for both boys AND girls. Players do not have to register, although it is strongly encouraged they do so.
