Ed Coppinger to Announce He is Running for State Rep

February 24, 2010

ParkwayBoston’s own Ed Coppinger will be announcing within the next week that he will be a candidate for State Representative.  Coppinger will be joining 3 others who have already announced their candidacy.

Ed Coppinger will take a leave of absence from ParkwayBoston.  We will give him the opportunity to publish his press release here as the others have done so already.  After that, ParkwayBoston will not discuss the Rep Race at all so there will not be an appearance of candidate preference.

Clarification: The editors of ParkwayBoston will not be discussing (editorializing)  the local 10th Suffolk District State Representative race, however we will be reporting on the events of the election as it progresses.  Remember to come to ParkwayBoston for all of your local news

With that we wish all the candidates well and look forward to having Ed back with us after the elections.

A candidate I can identify with: Trying to raise a young family in our community and also knows the nuts of bolts of trying to run a locally owned business. Ed Coppinger definitely has my vote.

Always glad to see competition in the local races!

We need a fresh face to replace Rep Rush. I saw that kid Sullivan at Dunkie’s last weekend and he looks like a great candidate. He seems to be out on the streets moreso than the other candidates.

    Coppinger 43%
    Tynan: 37%
    Benedetti: 20%

    Book it.

I agree with WestieVoter, you should check this guy Paul Sullivan out. His name recognition is not too high now because its February but I know him from Parkway Little League and he is a work horse. Wouldn’t surprise me if he tops the ticket. Highly educated too!

Should be a great race. I expect a few more names to appear.

Sullivan definitely has a bright future in local politics.

This is a wide open race. Whoever works hardest, gets out in the neighborhoods and can bring fresh new ideas & solutions will win (I hope). Scott Brown’s victory was a game-changer for both national, state & local politics. Let’s focus on fixing our problems instead of voting the party line. Good luck to all!

I agree completely with the previous post, lets hear some ideas about cutting down on government and how to get the budget back in order, focusing on the massive unfunded pension liability that is hanging over our head. Pensions for government/state/city workers needs to be adjusted before we start bankrupting cities and states across the country. No one should vote along party lines any more especially in this state where the politicians have made a complete mess.

Great news! Hoped Eddie would run. This changes everything.

    Go Eddie! Go!

I’ll go find my check book.

How many of these candidates own a home? Have kids? Have worked in the private sector? Is Ed the only one?

Ed is also a mortgage broker that profited on loans he sold to people who could not pay him back.

I think we need a woman to fill a man’s shoes this time, plus Kelly Tynan is the only teacher of the bunch.
