HOLIDAY A CAPPELLA CONCERT AND MESSIAH SING at Roxbury Latin
November 8, 2012
On Friday, December 7, at 7:30PM in The Roxbury Latin School’s Rousmaniere Hall, The Sly Voxes, a men’s a capella group directed by Headmaster Kerry Brennan, will present its Holiday Concert. The second half of the program will be a Messiah Sing-In during which audience members will be invited to constitute the four vocal parts and join in the singing of the Christmas portion (as well as the “Hallelujah Chorus”) from the world’s most enduring masterpiece. The singers will be accompanied by Brian Jones, organist, and aspiring young singers from the New England Conservatory of Music will sing the solo sections.
Members of the local community, as well as choruses and choirs of local churches and choral groups, are invited to join us in this celebration, as singers and/or members of a music-loving audience. While it is not necessary to let us know in advance if individuals or a group plans to attend, we would encourage those who are to contact Carol Kirchick at carol.kirchick@roxburylatin.org; 617-325-4920. If you can bring a copy of the Messiah, you are encouraged to do so. Otherwise, we will do our best to provide appropriate scores.
Admission is free and a reception will follow. The Roxbury Latin School is located near the West Roxbury-Needham Line Commuter rail stop. Free parking.
