Wolf or Coyote…You make the call!
November 24, 2008
I am not sure what it is but it is definitely not a dog. According to Jack Harrington, who sent us this photo from his camera phone, this “wolf” or “coyote”, was spotted on Weld St near the Arboretum, last weekend. The “wolf” looked little mad, (maybe because he found out about Kelleher’s closing for business). The animal stared at Jack, walked across the street. then jumped into the nearby woods. I will leave it up to you to decide who was more scared of who.
Let us know if you spot him, send us a picture!

Got something to say?

I’m pretty sure he’s a coyote; although after recently finishing the Twilight series, I’d easily jump on the wolf band-wagon. I used to live right near where this pic was taken and over the past several years there have been coyote sightings.
Plus, still in the neighborhood – - I’ve haven’t heard any howls – - although I’ve heard a fisher cat or two – - talk about sounding vicious!
Jack seems a little close – - hopefully he was using zoom on the camera – - the animal was probably hungry! I heard they don’t eat too much though – just an arm or a leg…….
I’m pretty sure that’s a coyote. I saw one crossing Centre St. between the Arboretum and Allandale Road last week….could be the same one!
That’s nothing, I was at the bar at West on Friday night and saw a pack of cougars.
Cougars you say? Go on, tell us more.
yeah, that’s a coyote. I’ve crossed paths with them around the arboretum and Forest Hills Cemetery while driving by at night.
It was in fact a Wolf and it was on it’s way to Robyn’s in Rozzie square to stand at their door.
There’s coyotes all over these days. Check out these coyote photos I took near Great Blue Hill in 2002:

I saw this coyote/wolf running across the putterham rotary last week.
If you look closely at the picture, you can see rocket skates on his feet made by the ACME company.
It’s a coyote.
While driving through Brookline one late night, I caught up with a coyote. He ran along side our car for about 3 blocks (across Rte. 9) before he ducked into a yard.
I always wondered how folks could tell the difference between a coyote and a dog, but when you see one, you know.
I saw another one crossing through the Arboretum a few weeks ago.
that’s me! ARRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
