West Roxbury Saves Energy
January 22, 2009
West Roxbury Saves Energy is a new community-based organization committed to spreading the word that individuals can easily make positive choices that save money as well as the environment. By providing resources, strategies, and information, WRSE exists to encourage our town’s residents to make informed decisions about patterns of energy use.
Perhaps you saw us at Roche Bros. illustrating what 365 plastic bags look like (see photo) and distributing free canvas shopping bags in an effort to reduce the use of plastic bags. We also gave a free Winterizing Workshop in December to help people learn easy, hands-on ways to seal their homes against the cold. Currently, we’re working on arranging NSTAR energy-saving “magic shows” in the local elementary schools that teach kids tricks to use at home to conserve energy. More projects and events are in the planning stages, and we are always looking for people with ideas-and energy!-to help, so contact us at wrse@westroxburysavesenergy.org if you want to get involved. To find out more, visit our Web site: westroxburysavesenergy.org.

Got something to say?

Over the past several months, I’ve been documenting all the plastic bag bans that get passed. You can see the list here. Let me know if you hear of any other ones.
