About ParkwayBoston
ParkwayBoston.com was founded by John G. Fitzgerald and Ed Coppinger in 2008 as a way to keep the neighborhoods of West Roxbury and Roslindale informed. The idea for the site came from the frustration of trying to find information about the Parkway area including where to eat and how to sign the kids up for youth sports. Our original site, launched in March of 2008, helped to resolve many of these issues while keeping its audience entertained.
However after listening to your feedback we wanted to find an easier way to keep you informed. With the help of Karl Stier of Watershed Media and Ben Gaucherin, ParkwayBoston.com evolved into a more accessible and better formatted site that allows us to include among other things, advertising, weather, video and a community calendar. The site also has an RSS feature allowing subscribers to get instant updates.
Many of the old features remain, including the ever popular Bellevue HillBilly, Roxie West, Table Critic and Mom Esq. Links to local sports programs, news outlets and community groups have been added and in the weeks ahead many more features will also be added. Like everything on the web, ParkwayBoston.com is ever evolving. This is your website, so please continue to give us feedback.
Special thanks go out first and foremost to our families, in particular our wives. We also would not be able to do this without the help of people like Karl Stier, Ben Gaucherin, Carol O’Connor, Karen Hickman, Mike Donaghy, Atlantic Associates Inc., our columnists and of course the people of the Parkway.
